Ebonyi State University, (EBSU) chapter of the Academic Staff Union of University, on Monday commenced an indefinite industrial action.
It was learnt that the reason for the strike was to press home their demands which include; release of the 2014 Professorial promotion, 2015 promotion of other cadres of academic staff of the institution, none gazetting of Academic Staff for the last 15 years, the slashing of their salaries by the state government among others.
According to the chairman of the union Prof Ideniyi, the union will not be threatened by the "no work, no pay" directive by the state government and will not return to classes until their demands are met in full.
